THREE DAYS OF IMMERSIVE DANCE INSTRUCTION
The 2020 Education Program will feature new and expanded three-day programming. We are thrilled to announce that Peter Boal, Artistic Director of Pacific Northwest Ballet, will be teaching classes for our Advanced Level students. Mr. Boal joined PNB in 2005; prior to joining the company, his professional dance career included 22 years with New York City Ballet. He was also a full-time faculty member at the School of American Ballet from 1997 to 2005. His participation in the BSV education program is an incredible opportunity for students to receive instruction from one of the leaders in ballet education.
Pacific Northwest Ballet School Faculty: Peter Boal, Naomi Glass and Benjamin Griffiths (Principal)– Focus on Intermediate and Advanced classes.
Pacific Northwest Ballet Dancers and Guest Faculty: Lesley Rausch (Principal), Kyle Davis (Principal) and Giovanni Villalobos and Kiyon Ross (PNB School Faculty) – Focus on Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced classes
Eva Stone, Choreographer – Focus on Choreography workshops for Beginner, Intermediate through Advanced. In September 2018 she launched a nationally recognized choreography program “New Voices: Choreography and Process for Young Women in Dance” at Pacific Northwest Ballet School. Most recently, Eva was commissioned to create a main stage work for Pacific Northwest Ballet’s 2019/20 season.
The program will again offer instruction in all levels of ballet, contemporary dance, and choreography taught by dancers from Pacific Northwest Ballet and faculty from Pacific Northwest Ballet School. The PNB Ballet School is ranked among the top ballet schools in the United States. In addition, we will offer lectures, Q&A Lunches, and other enrichment experiences.
This life-changing opportunity will be offered to students who are selected to participate. The goal of this program is to provide young dancers with the memories, experiences, and inspiration to reach for the next level of dance —whether that is a career in dance or a life enriched by the discipline, commitment, graceful movement, healthy exercise, and knowledge of one of the world’s most beautiful art forms.
This year’s program will coincide with Festival 2020 and take place on July 13th, 14th and 15th.
Thanks to the generous support of Ballet Sun Valley sponsors, this immersive program is offered to accepted students free of charge.
