Two Day Teacher Training Program – July 5th & 6th, 2019
The Teacher Training program will focus on how to use dance as therapy. These two days will include methods of teaching Adaptive Dance classes, discussions and lectures on various disabilities, movement therapy, class management strategies and recommended class structures. Emily Singleton, Boston Ballet School’s Adaptive Dance Program Manager, will be in Sun Valley, along with another instructor from Boston Ballet School, to lead this three-day program.
The Adaptive Dance Class Program – July 7th, 2019
During this Program, the newly trained teachers, along with the Boston Ballet School’s Adaptive Dance faculty, will explore the teaching of ballet and contemporary dance to participants, including those with disabilities ranging from Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism and Parkinson’s.
The hope is that this program will expand resources for the Idaho community to continue dance therapy throughout the year.
